Coopera 2026: the National Conference on Development Cooperation in Rome

At the end of May 2026, on the 26th and 27th, Coopera 2026 will take place in Rome between the Auditorium della Conciliazione and the Corsie Sistine.
Coopera is not just a public conference on development cooperation; it is, above all, a story.
It is the story of an Italy that cooperates, that builds bridges for development, that works with partners for shared growth and progress, in Africa as well as in the rest of the world. It is a collective effort by thousands of Italian women and men who are committed every day to building a better, more sustainable and more inclusive world.
It represents the large family of Italian Development Cooperation—a microcosm consisting of the daily work of public administrations, local authorities, universities and research centers, civil society organizations, businesses and international organizations, which together contribute to strengthening Italy’s external action. Development cooperation is, in fact, an integral part of Italian foreign policy: it is a tool for building relationships, enhancing Italy’s role, co-designing high-impact projects with partner countries and providing immediate, effective and lasting responses.
The initiative will be structured over two days of work and plenary sessions. The debate will focus on analyzing the complex global scenario highlighting sustainable development and international solidarity.
Following the success of previous editions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation once again extends an invitation to university students, offering them the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Italy’s role in the world and to engage directly with institutional representatives and key actors in the sector.
